The Dorchester Collection is a renowned hospitality brand with a portfolio of high-end hotels such as Hotel Eden in Rome, Athenee in Paris and the Dorchester in London. Recently, the company is set to launch the first Dorchester hotel in the Middle East.
The Dorchester hotel Business Bay is still under construction in one of the most exclusive districts in Dubai dubbed as the Business Bay. This neighbourhood is close to popular landmarks in Dubai such as the Burj Khalifa and the Mall of the Emirates. The hotel is a gleaming steel and glass tower on the banks of the Dubai Canal. Once completed, it will be the most aesthetically modern hotels among Dorchester group of hotels
Information about the hotel is very scanty. However, the images recently released shows incredible features such as a lush rooftop terrace, open-air swimming pool and more. It will be one of the most high-class hotels in the neighbourhood.
The pictures also reveal striking works of art at the public spaces such as a cascading, crystalline chandelier hanging in the driveway. Also, the hotel will feature floor-to-ceiling windows which will offer scenic views of the Marasi Marina and the Business Bay District.
Since it is still under construction, the name of the hotel has not been finalised and the opening date not yet announced. However, it is expected to be completed by 2020.
According to Dorchester Collection CEO Christopher Cowdray, this project will define the future of hospitality in the Downtown area of Dubai. Also, Omniyat CEO, Mahdi Amjad indicate that the partnership will showcase a unique experience that combines great hospitality and exceptional designs.
The Dorchester Dubai project is developed by Omniyat, a high-end developer in Dubai which is also behind Langham Place in Downtown Dubai. However, after completion, the hotel will be managed by the Dorchester Collection.
One of the most unique features of this partnership is that One Palm, a collection of private residences developed by Omniyat situated at the Palm Jumeirah, will become part of the Dorchester hospitality brand.
Omniyat and Dorchester Collection are working with Foster and Partners and Gilles & Boissier for the architecture and design of the project. It will feature 93 guestrooms and suits spread across 19 floors. Apart from the hotel, the development will also feature 98 serviced apartments.
Currently, the Dubai property market is experiencing in anticipation for the Expo 2020. This is to meet the expected demand as the expo is expected to attract millions of visitors.
