Beira Lake
Near to the Gangaramaya Temple in the heart of Colombo is situated a large lake – Beira Lake. This lake has crazy olive coloured water because of its pollution. In the centre of the lake is a tiny island having the Simamalaka Shrine, which was constructed from donations made from a Muslim sponsor. The beauty of this lake is that it connects with other lakes via narrow canals and ends up in the Indian sea.
