The national park has two entrances at the north side of the canyon and the south side. The south side is the most visited, as it has easy access, but if you want to see the canyon without as many people around, consider taking the extra drive to the north entrance. This entrance may be closed down due to snow or ice, so check with the park before taking that trip.
5. Check out Acadia National Park in Maine.
Want to be one of the first people in the United States to watch the sunrise? Climb to the top of Cadillac Mountain in Maine’s Acadia National Park and you can. This park is on Mount Desert Island and offers gorgeous views throughout the area. It is also a great way to escape the heat since Maine tends to have a fairly temperate climate in summer.
