Researching local limo services can only mean one thing; you’ve got a big event coming up and you want to ride around in style. Limos are the perfect transportation mode for prom nights, wedding days, bachelor parties, business meetings, and even quick trips to the airport. Not only are limousines comfortably, riding around in luxury will make you feel like a VIP.
It’s common for limousine passengers to get so excited about the stylish transportation that they start to feel giddy. Some passengers even get a bit wild, especially those celebrating a big event such as a prom night, bachelor or bachelorette parties. But it is important to remember that as a passenger – even though you’re a paying customer – you need to respect the driver and the rules of the limo service you’ve hired. Be sure to follow these 3 etiquette tips while you ride around like a VIP.
Give an Official Passenger Count Ahead of Time
Most limo services require this, but even if they don’t, it is respectful to give an official head count ahead of time. You should have a good idea of this ahead of time anyways, especially if booking the limo is for an organized event like a wedding. As soon as you get the official head count, let the limo agency know so that they can properly accommodate each passenger.
One of the worst things you can do is change the amount of passengers at the last minute. If you add more people at the last minute, there might not even be enough room in the limo to accommodate for the extra passengers. If you do need to add more people to the initial head count, give the agency a call to ask if it’s OK.
Ask About Food and Beverages Beforehand
Most limousine services these days allow passengers to bring food and beverages on board, but it is always important to check ahead of time. If the limo agency gives the OK to bring food/beverages on board, they’ll typically give you a set of rules. The most common rules have to do with alcohol – such as a 2 drink minimum per passenger. Be respectful and stick to these rules.
Clean Up After Yourself
The driver is there to drive you, not to serve as your maid. When you leave the limo for the night, you should be leaving it in good condition. The limo service will clean the vehicle after each party, but this doesn’t mean you have the right to trash it. Pick up your garbage, avoid spilled drinks, and don’t leave anything behind.
Always Keep Safety in Mind
The main concern for a limo service is to keep its passengers safe. Drivers will be highly trained in road safety and adhere to traffic laws and speed limits. It is up to you as a passenger to practice safety as well. Loud music is entirely acceptable, but don’t do anything that would serve as a distraction to the driver. Remain seated in the limo as much as possible and always keep in mind the rules of road safety.
