It’s no secret that there’s one thing on everyone’s mind at the moment. Fashion. No matter where you go or what you do, it’s important to look your best.
If you’re a nurse, you may go through your days thinking you can’t possibly look good in scrubs. First, let me tell you that you’re wrong.
Style has everything to do with attitude.
You don’t have to wear a Halloween nurse costume to look good on the job. There are some simple ways you can look and feel good in your scrubs.
This guide to stylish scrubs will reveal just how easily you can attain a chic medical look.
The Fit
Scrubs aren’t much different than any other clothing item in your closet. They need to fit you properly.
You don’t want to look like you’re wearing a potato sack unless you’re into that sort of thing. Baggy scrubs can make it difficult to do your job. They’ll get in the way.
You also don’t want to get caught wearing scrubs that are too tight.
This can be offputting to patients and coworkers alike. They’re not here to have you seduce them out of a coma.
Search around for different styles. What do you feel most comfortable in? What’s most flattering on your body?
You can find a range of different styles, from V-necks to beyond. This website offers a wide variety of different scrubs to choose from.
Keep Accessories to a Minimum
Excessive rings, necklaces, and other accessories can get in the way. They can rip your gloves or collect germs.
Accessories can add some more personality to your outfit, but you’ll need to keep it understated.
Small earrings can do the trick. Find ones that suit your personality.
You might enjoy little stars or flower. Don’t choose anything that will hang down and get caught on something.
You don’t want to accidentally pull out a patient’s IV.
Keep Yourself Clean and Tidy
In any profession, you need to appear professional. Some warm water, soap, and shampoo can take you a long way.
I get it, you don’t always feel on top of the game. However, you want to be able to instill a sense of trust and comfort in your patients.
Keep your hair, nails, and teeth clean and tidy. You’ll want to smell good too. Be mindful-you might be unable to wear scents or even use scented soaps.
You need to keep your scrubs clean. Don’t wear the same scrubs each and every day. They’ll quickly gather dirt, and colors will fade.
Keep a larger wardrobe of scrubs. This will ensure you don’t have to wash your scrubs too often. Washing can lead to fading if done too often.
Choosing Colors and Prints
The color palette you choose could change your game entirely. Blue and pink are colors that look good on almost everyone.
Don’t let outdated gender biases distract you.
With pink, darker skin tones can get away with brighter shades. If your skin is lighter, brighter pinks can bring out too much pink in your complexion.
Ask your mom which colors look best on you. She will tell you some lies with a little bit of truth sprinkled in.
While floral on floral may be fun and exciting, this is only true in some circumstances. Floral on floral doesn’t make for the best scrubs.
If you choose a patterned top, please choose a solid pant. This will be a favor to everyone concerned.
Monotone combinations can look really chic, but sometimes you want to shake it up. Try a colorful top with a neutral bottom.
Sensible Footwear
Nobody in their right mind likes to hear those words. The idea of sensible footwear inspires fear into the hearts of all those with eyes.
You spend hours on your feet. You spend your days standing and walking about. If you invest in a good comfortable pair of shoes, your feet will thank you.
If you do some searching, you should be able to find cute shoes. Don’t cry just yet.
Hair
Hair is one of the most important personal style points we have. For men and women alike, hair can be everything.
Capitalize on what makes you unique, even when you have to wear scrubs.
You still need to be realistic sometimes. If you have long hair, it needs to be kept out of your face. Keep your hair in a braid or ponytail.
You can always add some accessories, such as hair clips.
You didn’t come to work as a nurse to be a sex goddess.
Beards
If you’re a man with a bear, keep it neat. Unsightly beards can be distracting and disturbing.
There are some exceptions to this rule, such as religious reasons.
Otherwise, you should probably not let your facial hair grow out too much. If you don’t keep a beard, shave regularly.
If you wear a beard for religious reasons, do you.
Be Mindful of Policies
Different facilities may have specific policies. You may only be able to wear certain colors or prints.
Some facilities won’t allow you to wear any perfumes or fragrances.
Make sure you’re aware of all the rules. They likely exist for a good reason. You should follow them.
While it can be fun to express yourself, you may need to sacrifice this. Just for a few hours until your shift is over.
Stay Chic With Stylish Scrubs
If you work in the healthcare industry, you’re familiar with the scrubs. Some people find them uncomfortable or just plain ugly.
If your employer allows, you can take some steps to wear more stylish scrubs. Just be aware of important rules and regulations.
Take some time to shop around and check out your different scrub options. Some are definitely more attractive than others.
However, it’s not all about being fashionable. Nurses do important work regardless of their looks.
