14 Cheap and Easy Ways to Have a Girls’ Night In

Girls’ nights don’t have to cost the earth. In fact, you don’t even need to leave the house to have one! If you’re looking to save a bit of money this month, we’ve gathered 14 different ways that you can have a girl’s night in without spending anything (or spending very little)! Check it out below to find out more.

Play Casino Games

Online casino games are so easy to find, so why not play a game of poker with friends this evening? Or if its slots and blackjack you’re into, check out a comparison site, like Fruity Slots to find the best slots sign up bonus to play them and get going!

While online gambling might seem counterintuitive to a cheap evening, remember you don’t need to place big bets! You could make a real evening out of it. Play Bond theme songs in the background and even have a martini that is shaken and not stirred.

At-Home Spa

The cost of an actual spa is usually quite high and, very often, not in many people’s budgets. However, many supermarkets and pharmacies now sell tonnes of face masks, eye masks, foot masks, and lip masks which you can apply and relax with for your next girls’ night.

You could give each other manicures, play some relaxing music, and chat while you pamper yourselves on a budget.

Watch 00s Romcoms

Let’s be real here, the best era of romcoms was the 00s. Kate Hudson in that yellow dress, Bridget Jones’s granny panties, and classic soundtracks that will make you want to sing your heart out.

Netflix, Prime, and many other streaming services are host to all the 00s romcoms you could ever want to watch. So, provided one of you have a streaming account, we’d say your evening is pretty much sorted!

Play Board Games

Board games may cause family arguments, but have you ever played them with friends? If not, why not? Playing a game of Monopoly is probably the truest test there ever could be of your friendship!

All jokes aside, a night of board games could be a good way to disconnect and just spend some time with the people you love without having to spend lots of money.

Dye Each Other’s Hair

This one requires the highest amount of trust and is not for everyone, and if you’re not quite ready to dye each other’s hair, what about just styling it?

Have a Karaoke Night

Pre-warn your neighbours and load up your favourite romantic ballads for an evening of cheesy hits, bad singing, and lots of laughs. If you don’t have a karaoke machine, you can usually find some good options online on sites like YouTube too!

Learn About Tarot Cards

Have you always wanted to have your fortune told? Why not spend the evening learning about tarot cards, what they mean, and how to do a reading. You can then spend the rest of the evening doing readings on each other! It may take a few goes until you get the future you want from the cards…

Have a Painting Evening

Bob Ross always makes painting look so easy, doesn’t he? So, why not set up your easels, grab a canvas, and see if you can paint landscapes like he can? If you’re feeling adventurous, you could even set up a still life to paint.

Another way to have a creative evening is to seek out a local life drawing class. Some of them even happen virtually, which could be a really cool and different way to hang out with your friends.

Form a Book Club

This is an easy way to have a reason to meet each month! Book clubs are growing in popularity at the moment, and with so many incredible novels out there, why not try it with your friends? You can find the best books of the year on sites like GoodReads and then have a vote on which to read.

Some books now even come with book club discussion points in the back pages, making it super easy to get on this trend.

Cook a Meal Together

If you usually spend girls’ nights eating at fancy restaurants, why not change it up a little. Agree on a recipe, split the cost of the ingredients, and then cook yourselves up a feast. You can add wine parings of your choice and even dress up like you’re actually going out!

If you’re really invested in this idea, you could even play your own version of Come Dine With Me!

Binge Watch a Nostalgic TV Show

Like with 00s romcoms, streaming services have absolutely no shortage of nostalgic TV shows. Whether you were really into Hannah Montana or were a Gilmore Girls fanatic, you’re bound to find a show you all loved on one of these platforms.

Look at Old School Photos

Feeling particularly nostalgic? Grab your old school yearbooks, class photos, and Myspace memories and take a trip down memory lane. You will probably want to hide when you see some of the haircuts and makeup trends you wore (we’re looking at you bad highlights and backcombed hair), but it’s a sure-fire way to spend an evening giggling and reminiscing.

Try Cocktail Making

Do you like to go out to cocktail bars on girl’s nights? Well, you could try out making your own cocktails instead. You can find tonnes of ready-made sets in shops now, so you have all the equipment, and you usually only need to buy a few spirits to make tonnes of tasty cocktails for yourself!

Have a Good Old Gossip

When all else fails and no-one can agree on one of the many ideas we have given in this list, why not just sit and have a chat? There is nothing quite like a catch up with friends where you share gossip and laugh at the old days. Sometimes, the simplest way to spend the evening is the best!
