The summer is here and it’s now time to start a few of those projects that you’ve been putting off. Longer days mean you can get back from work in the evening and it’s still light. No more excuses! Here’s our top suggestions that you can use this week so you can improve you home this summer.
Make Your Garden Nicer
Nothing’s better than a comfortable garden in the summer. You can go to the garden centre over the weekend and come back with more flowers. Get some plant boxes and put some of your favourite flowers in. If you make your garden attractive, you can sit outside in the warmer evenings. Other options including finally building that patio or getting your pond set up. At the very least, you can make an effort to mow your lawn. Just imagine that little bit of effort now will lead to years of enjoying your garden!
Upgrade Your Kitchen
You don’t have to rip everything out and start again. Upgrading your kitchen can be as simple as buying a matching table and chair set. Or getting new appliances. You’re not expected to get something like a commercial deck oven! But you can buy new appliances. Maybe it’s time that you finally get a dishwasher. Or replace your microwave. Sit down and come up with a list. Then think about how you’re going to improve your kitchen.
Freshen the Look of Your Home
Had the same wallpaper for as long as you can remember? Maybe it’s time to get a fresh look. You can head down to the local DIY store on the weekend and have a look at your options. Consider changing the paper in your living room, hall, and bedrooms. Especially if you have young children in the house. Changing the style of your home doesn’t have to be stressful. You should view it as exciting. Get the brochures out and go online for inspiration. With a little time, you can find the perfect wallpaper and style for your house!
Have a Better Bathroom
We usually neglect our bathroom the most. Because we spend the least time in this room, so don’t put as much effort into making it look good. One of the easiest ways to upgrade is to install a new shower. You can invest in a walk-in-shower (if you don’t already have one) and replace the bathtub. Or you can look into ways to make your bathroom use water more efficiently. Sure, you might have to spend some money up front. But you’re also going to cut the costs of your water bills that should last for as long as you have the house. Other options include changing the appearance of our bathroom, installing towel racks or buying a new cupboard. You don’t have to rip everything out and start again. But you might feel much better with a fresher look.
