As always, advance planning is often the key to getting great rates on travel. For example, if you want to get a cheap flight ticket from Mumbai to Singapore when touring Asia on a budget, keep an eye on the fares and book well in advance. However, that being said, there are some things you won’t want to book too far in advance online, and that would be accommodations. Are you planning a trip through Asia this summer? This would be a great time to travel and some of the following tips will explain why summer is the best season to go.
Take Your Time Between Stops
Not only will you get to do and see more when taking your time between stops, but you will also have time to book well in advance the next leg of your journey. Remember, travel arrangements are best booked in advance and if you have time to scout the fares, you’ll get the best deals as they hit. Also, the further out you book, the better deals you’ll find. Last minute flights are always more expensive due to seat availability.
Travel in Groups If Possible
Sometimes you can find good deals at group rates. This is especially prevalent when taking tours. If you can book a group day tour, you’ll get a better per-person rate than you would when paying a solo fare. Sometimes you can even get group rates at hostels and nightclubs if you travel in a group, so if you have a group of mates looking to travel this summer as well, make your reservations together.
Become Familiar with Public Transport
You are travelling on a budget, so you probably won’t want to spend money hiring a car. Some countries have amazing trains and busses that run regularly from one city to the next and you’ll find that fares are often much more reasonably priced than they are back home in the UK. Also, if staying in one country for any length of time, travel by ground, not by air if at all possible. Save that money for trips from Mumbai to Singapore, for example. Spend the difference having fun at each stop along the way.
Mind Where You Eat
On your first day in any new location you might be tempted to eat at all the touristy restaurants. However, sit back and watch where the locals go. Not only can you save heaps of money eating in local restaurants and perhaps getting utterly delicious street foods, but you’ll get a better idea of what the locals really eat. You are trying to learn and experience new places, aren’t you? If so, then live like the locals!
There are so many ways to save money when touring Asia but the thing to remember is that you can save more if you are willing to take your time. You can often stay for several weeks for the price differential when flying a last-minute booking. Why not get more for your money? Do more and see more by booking travel arrangements in advance. Save that money to spend having fun. That sounds like a plan, doesn’t it? That’s the best tip of all.
