So, you’re going camping. You’ve got the hot dogs, the burgers, some cereal, all the traditional fixings. But what if you want to branch out a little?
Well, we’ve got good news. We have put together four amazing campfire cooking recipes for you to try out on your next camping trip. Let’s take a look.
1. Bacon and Cheese Pull-Aparts
When you’re out camping, you’ve got most meals figured out. You brought cheeses, meat, and condiments for sandwiches to make at lunchtime and you’ve got the classic burger and hotdog combo to grill up for dinner. But when it comes to breakfast, you may find yourself at a loss.
A Great and easy recipe to make for breakfast around the campsite is bacon and cheese pull-aparts. This delicious breakfast meal will be easily devoured within a matter of time. The rolls covered in melted cheese and overwhelmed with the smell of bacon will leave all mouths watering.
2. Breakfast Taquitos
If the pull-aparts aren’t your style, then perhaps you’re more fond of the traditional breakfast sandwich. To make the traditional breakfast sandwich more compact, tasty, and practical for your camping trip, we’re going to turn them into breakfast taquitos.
The recipe works best with corn tortillas, but you can use flour if you prefer. All you really need to do is take your favorite sausage links and lay them down on a bed of eggs, cheese, and some veggies if you want to. Once they’re all situated, you roll them up and eat them!
If you want the tortilla to hold its wrap and maybe want the cheese to melt a little more, all you have to do is heat it up a little more in a pan. No matter how you serve it, they’ll be gone in seconds.
3. S’Mores Granola
Traditional trail mix is great and all, but why not spice it up? While s’mores granola doesn’t sound all to healthy, it actually can be.
The granola on its own is really good for you, but if you opt for a rich dark chocolate chip instead of a traditional milk chocolate one, the most unhealthy food in the mix would be the marshmallow. Luckily, the ratio of healthy to unhealthy in the s’mores granola is similar if not better to traditional trail mix.
4. Chili Cheese Fries
We can all eat hot dogs and burgers every night if we wanted to, but at a certain point, you’ll want to add something extra. This is where campfire chili cheese fries come in. This delicious dish is an excellent complement to your traditional campfire dinner.
You’ll have to bring some fries and chili of course in addition to any shredded cheese you’ve likely already brought with you. It isn’t too difficult to make as all you have to do is put the fries in some foil with some oil and then you add your chili and cheese. To go more in-depth with the side, here’s the recipe.
But maybe chili cheese fries aren’t what you’re looking for. In that case, take a look at this hot water cornbread. Also called a corn fritter, hot water cornbread will hit you with a nice, crispy crunch and then enchant your mouth with soft, creamy, and stunning inside. They’re perfect for snacks, sides, and even breakfast if you want!
